The Trinity Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (the Lions have seven straight victories, the Eagles have six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Trinity Christian slipped by Grace Prep 13-12. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Grace Prep is ranked 891st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Pantego Christian on Friday and fell 11-8.
Trinity Christian's win was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for the Lions against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 51-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
