They breezed by Vandalia Christian at home to the tune of 63-35. The victory was just what Gospel Light Christian needed coming off of a 76-32 loss in their prior game.
Gospel Light Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Ward led the charge by scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ward pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Drake Walker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Gospel Light Christian's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Vandalia Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Gospel Light Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calvary Christian at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Calvary Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Gospel Light Christian likes a good challenge. Vandalia Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Alamance Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
