One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Salisbury School's senior Rahsul Faison, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Welcome
It isn't too difficult to come out on top when you enjoy a 118-yard edge over your opponent, and Platt had just that last week. It got a somewhat close 26 - 19 victory over Wethersfield. Platt found its leader in an underclassman: Roberto Salas rushed for 265 yards and one touchdown, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. Thanks to its success, Platt cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 15th spot.
Can't Touch This
Salisbury School's 55 - 7 win over Kent School last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Rahsul Faison. Faison ran for 202 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Faison as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Taft School and Brunswick School, 8th and 5th in the MaxPreps state rankings, respectively. Taft School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 33 - 26 to Brunswick School. Despite the defeat, Taft School might take consolation in the fact that it scored well against Brunswick School's defense, which allows only nine points per game on average.
