The Edgerton Bulldogs will venture away from home to  take on the Montpelier Locomotives  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Edgerton is coming into the  contest on  a  four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Edgerton came up short against Liberty Center  and fell  7-3.
 Edgerton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Cory Herman, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Montpelier gave up the first  runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They skirted past Hilltop  4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Locomotives have posted  since May 10, 2024.
 Wesley Hartsock and  Hayden Sharps made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Hartsock   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Meanwhile,  Sharps   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. At the plate,  Hartsock  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances, while  Sharps  scored a  run and  stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  CJ Fidler, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaxon Stahler, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Montpelier has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4  runs this season. As for Edgerton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Edgerton suffered a grim  9-2 defeat to Montpelier  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
