If the Highland Huskies were riding high off their 48-14 takedown of the Clearwater Valley Rams on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highland took a serious blow against Colton on Friday, falling 64-29. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Highland in their matchups with Colton: they've now lost four in a row.
Highland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Beck, who scored five points along with ten rebounds. Beck hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Hailey Click, who scored seven points along with five steals and three blocks.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Colton, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Highland will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Garfield-Palouse at 3:30 p.m. on January 6th. Garfield-Palouse is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
