The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers lost against the Fox Creek Predators back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Batesburg-Leesville received a tough blow as they fell 56-38 to Fox Creek. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Batesburg-Leesville in their matchups with Fox Creek: they've now lost six in a row.
Batesburg-Leesville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ta'Maj Gilliam, who scored 15 points. Jr Stewart was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Connor Cannon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fox Creek, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cannon has scored at least a third of Fox Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brelan Baskett, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Batesburg-Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Fox Creek, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Batesburg-Leesville will stay at home for another game and welcome Pelion at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Fox Creek will take on Westminster Schools of Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster Schools of Augusta is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
