The Jefferson County Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged Magee out 30-27. The victory was nothing new for Jefferson County as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jefferson County was led to victory by Royale Shelvy and Jabari Watson. Shelvy picked up 151 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Watson rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Jefferson County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Tylan Johnson was especially locked on to Magee's QB and sacked him twice.
Despite the loss, Magee still got an impressive performance from Kendarious Porter, who rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Jefferson County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Magee, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Jefferson County will take on Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Magee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
