Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Placer's 19th in Last 20 Outings

Placer had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Oakmont Vikings with a sharp 74-51 victory on Wednesday. The Hillmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Placer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmett Rose, who posted 17 points. Rose's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Rector, who had 15 points and six rebounds.

Placer is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points over those games. Oakmont's loss dropped their record down to 14-15.

Looking ahead, Placer will take on El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in El Capitan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Oakmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
