It was a good run, but The Rockridge Rockets unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Seneca 47-14. While losing is never fun, Rockridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Seneca is ranked 42nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seneca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathen Neal, who rushed for 103 yards on only 13 carries. Neal was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Giertz, who threw for 32 yards and two touchdowns.
Rockridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Seneca, their victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 11-0.
Rockridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seneca also has no future games currently scheduled.
