The Columbia Capitals were the 58-47 winner over the Gilbert Indians when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Columbia had to suffer through a rough 66-15 loss at the hands of Gilbert.
Ahleira Leaphart was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. Another player making a difference was Anabel Godfrey, who scored 18 points along with 5 steals.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gilbert, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on C.A. Johnson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilbert, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Irmo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
