The Irondequoit Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Honeoye Falls-Lima, falling 64-33. While losing is never fun, Irondequoit can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Honeoye Falls-Lima is ranked 182nd).
Irondequoit's loss came despite strong showings from Kailey Besio and Destynie Saunders. Besio scored 12 points, while Saunders scored six points.
Irondequoit has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Irondequoit will head out on the road to face off against Gates Chili at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Honeoye Falls-Lima will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pittsford at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
