Cambridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hodge Raburn, who went 8 of 14 en route to 24 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Raburn has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Krayton Ruggles, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Houston Billeter was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten boards for Southwest. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Billeter has scored at least a third of Southwest's points. Deric Kelley was another key player, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds.
Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Southwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Cambridge will face off against Southern Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Southern Valley likes a good challenge. As for Southwest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bertrand at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bertrand will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Southwest surely won't give up without a fight.
