The Mount Anthony Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Hartford Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, Mount Anthony came up short against Hoosick Falls and fell 80-71. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mount Anthony came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 35th in Vermont, while Hoosick Falls is ranked 185th in New York).
Meanwhile, Hartford had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 77-37 win over Brattleboro at home. Hartford has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.
Mount Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Hartford, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Mount Anthony beat Hartford 55-46 in their previous meeting back in January of 2015. Will Mount Anthony repeat their success, or does Hartford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
