They fell just short of Palmerton by a score of 3-1 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Green Knights have suffered since May 7, 2024.
Pen Argyl saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Vishnesky, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Notre Dame-Green Pond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Wilson Area on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their two-run performance the match before.
Clemente Cintron made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Casal, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Connor Albert was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Notre Dame-Green Pond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pen Argyl has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame-Green Pond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
