Basketball Game Preview: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Clover Blue Eagles

Fort Mill has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Clover has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will welcome the Clover Blue Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Fort Mill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.

If Fort Mill beats Clover with 51 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Fort Mill strolled past Catawba Ridge with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-34. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Copperheads are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Parker, who went 6 of 10 en route to 20 points. The contest was Parker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Nas Berry was another key player, putting up ten points along with five assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Clover was able to grind out a solid win over Rock Hill on Friday, taking the game 77-67.

Fort Mill is also on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Clover, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Fort Mill didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Clover in their previous matchup on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. Will Fort Mill repeat their success, or does Clover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
