They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Orleans Bulldogs. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won three contests in a row.
White River Valley took Orleans into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24, 21-25, 24-26, 16-14.
Hailey Grover paced White River Valley's offense, picking up 18 kills. Grover got some help from Evelyn Abrams and her 44 assists. Marley Carmichael controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Orleans' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Meredith Lantis, who had 28 digs and four assists, and Hayley Hess, who had 20 digs.
