Mountain View has gone 8-2 against North Stafford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
North Stafford will be up against a hot Mountain View team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats blew past Spotsylvania 12-2 on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
North Stafford not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 14-0). They never let Massaponax get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kaylie DeChicchis made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, North Stafford let Addy Aragon and Kelsie Jacques run wild. Aragon went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Jacques went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Jacques has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey McCabe, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
North Stafford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
North Stafford's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, their record now sits at 11-4.
Mountain View couldn't quite finish off North Stafford in their previous meeting back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
