Walnut Ridge (Columbus, Ohio) senior tight end/defensive end Austin Traylor verbally committed to play for Wisconsin on Thursday night, according to Scots coach Byron Mattox.
A 6-foot-4, 211-pounder, Traylor chose the Badgers from a list of 21 offers that also included Arizona, Cincinnati, Michigan, Michigan State and West Virginia.
The commitment from Traylor gives Wisconsin two players from central Ohio in its 2011 recruiting class.
Westerville South (Westerville, Ohio) senior offensive lineman Ray Ball verbally committed to the school in mid-October.
This season, Traylor finished with 31 catches for 639 yards (20.6 average) and scored five touchdowns on offense. Traylor also started most of the season at defensive end and finished with 16 tackles for losses and 10 sacks for the Scots, who finished with an 8-2 record.
"He's the best player I have coached," Mattox said. "He thrives on competition. I think he's the best all-around player in Ohio."
