Greenbrier Christian Academy's last matchup with Southampton Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Gators came up short against the Raiders, falling 56-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gators have suffered since September 28, 2024.
Despite the defeat, Greenbrier Christian Academy had strong showings from Conner Isenberg, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Tyson Moravec, who threw for 231 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. Isenberg also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Parker Noland, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Chincoteague was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They secured a 24-20 W over Kenston Forest. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Ponies were down 20-0 in the third quarter.
Greenbrier Christian Academy better focus on containing JDarius Davis and Austin Adams as the pair were huge in Chincoteague's win. Davis threw for 205 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes, while Adams picked up 61 receiving yards.
The win made it two in a row for Chincoteague and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.5 points over those games. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Greenbrier Christian Academy against Chincoteague in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
