Chester extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 0-4-1. They came up short against the South Pointe Stallions, falling 19-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Cyclones' highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for South Pointe, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

For South Pointe's part, Gage Ashley was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Braylon Frederick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chester will challenge Nation Ford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Pointe, they will take on Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
