The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles lost against the Logan Grizzlies back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Maple Mountain fell just short of Logan by a score of 54-51.
Maple Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Marker, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Matt Peterson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Maple Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Logan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Mountain will be home for the holidays to greet Lehi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lehi's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Logan and Preston will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Preston is ranked 34th in Idaho, while Logan is ranked 20th in Utah).
