The Rock Point Cougars typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Basis Yeti proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 90-77 win over the Cougars. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jack Engelthaler, who shot 8-for-13 from long range and dropped a double-double on 40 points and 20 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Rowdy McGourin was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with two steals.
Basis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Rock Point, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Basis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rock Point will look to defend their home court on Monday against Grand Canyon at 6:00 p.m.
