The Lathrop Malemutes will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Ben Eielson Ravens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ben Eielson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lathrop, who comes in off a win.
Lathrop had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They breezed by North Pole at home to the tune of 65-38. That 65-38 margin sets a new team best for Lathrop this season.
Lathrop can attribute much of their success to Luke Skinner, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, and Deshon Hall, who scored 20 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Hall scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Atticus Foley, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Ben Eielson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 66-11 loss at the hands of West Valley.
Lathrop's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ben Eielson, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
