Even though Everglades City scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Naples Classical Academy still came out on top. Naples Classical walked away with a 71-58 win over Everglades City. This was payback for Naples Classical, who suffered a 63-59 loss the last time these two teams met.
Naples Classical found their leader in underclassman Daniel Coldiron, who scored 33 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Coldiron has scored at least a third of Naples Classical's points. Another player making a difference was Layne Rachu, who scored 14 points.
Naples Classical's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Everglades City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Naples Classical will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Island Coast at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Everglades City, they will challenge Marco Island Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marco Island Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
