Elk City has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Weatherford Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only seven points in their last matchup, Elk City made sure to put some points up on the board against Chickasha two weeks ago. Elk City blew past Chickasha 42-18. The result was nothing new for Elk City, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Weatherford earned a 23-14 win over Cache on Thursday.
Weatherford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victor Garcia, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cj Nickson, who picked up 121 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Elk City's win two weeks ago bumped their record up to 3-3. As for Weatherford, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3.
Elk City beat Weatherford 22-12 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Does Elk City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weatherford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
