The Summit Academy Bears will head out on the road to square off against the American Leadership Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Summit Academy will be strutting in after a win while American Leadership Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Summit Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Judge Memorial Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bears were the clear victors by a 23-8 margin over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Kaylee Luttio was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ellie Sylvia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Summit Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .805. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Provo, falling 21-11. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Saydee Carter was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ana Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
American Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Summit Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Summit Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like American Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Summit Academy suffered a grim 23-7 defeat to American Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
