The Lakeside Vikings pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of North Atlanta by a score of 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Lakeside has suffered yet this season.
Lakeside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zayd Muhammad, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Funna, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Lakeside are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 4.33 points. As for North Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside will take on Dunwoody at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dunwoody's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for North Atlanta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Cobb at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully South Cobb focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday.
