Jake Peterson of Larimore ran for the longest rushing play in A Region 2 this season against Lakota/Adams-Edmore/Dakota Prairie last week. Peterson ran for 56 yards on the play and finished with 94 on the day as his team bested Lakota/Adams-Edmore/Dakota Prairie.
Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Patriots vanquished Midway/Minto 48-0 earlier in the week.
6-foot-1 quarterback Blake Yahna of Larimore is the league leader in passing yards this season with 156. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Devin Flanders. The Midway/Minto star has 6 catches for 79 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when North Prairie co-op [Rolette/Wolford/Rolla] takes on Lakota/Adams-Edmore/Dakota Prairie. The Comets are in third place, while Lakota/Adams-Edmore/Dakota Prairie is in fifth place.
The Mustangs lost to Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Derek Goodoien ran for 107 yards in the defeat.
