Pine View is a perfect 4-0 against Cedar since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Reds at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Pine View has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, Pine View didn't have quite enough to beat Centennial and fell 3-2. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-21 in the first set.
Pine View took Centennial into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-11.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Preston Twede, who had 14 digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cedar, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Dixie on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Reds in their matchups with the Flyers: they've now won seven in a row.
Cedar got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-22, 30-28.
Pine View's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Cedar, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Pine View took their win against Cedar in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
