Baseball Game Preview: Twinsburg Tigers vs. Clay Eagles

The Twinsburg Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Clay Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Twinsburg will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Twinsburg challenged Northview on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-1.

Lucas Tinter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Kramer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Meanwhile, Clay never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Whitmer 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Clay's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Raymond Campos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Twinsburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clay, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Twinsburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game.
