Basketball Recap: Ja'niya Corbin and Liliana Rosario Secure Win for Trinity Catholic

Trinity Catholic's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 65-55 win over The Rock Lions. That looming 65-55 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Celtics yet this season.

Leading Trinity Catholic to victory were Liliana Rosario and Ja'Niya Corbin. Rosario dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards, while Corbin dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 steals. Rosario is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brionie Leahmon, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and three steals.

The Rock's loss came despite strong showings from Ruby Patterson and Audrey Roberts. Patterson almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards, while Roberts went 8 of 20 on her way to 23 points, to go along with seven boards and four steals. That's the most points Roberts has posted since back in December of 2023.

Trinity Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for The Rock, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Trinity Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-19 victory against North Marion on the 5th. As for The Rock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-30 loss against Potter's House Christian on the 3rd.
