Chapman is 0-7 against the Devildogs since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chapman Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chapman can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Union County, posting a 59-16 win at home. Given Chapman's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chapman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Krislyn Wilder, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Wilder has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. Elliot Miller was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Travelers Rest beat the Centurions 32-27 on Friday. The win was just what Travelers Rest needed coming off of a 66-29 loss in their prior contest.
The victory makes it two in a row for Chapman and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for Travelers Rest, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
Chapman came up short against the Devildogs in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-41. Will Chapman have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
