The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 win over Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley. Given Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaden Potter threw for 84 yards and a touchdown. Jack McFerran was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Dominick Paljusaj rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.4 points per game. As for Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will face off against Glens Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Glens Falls is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
