Volleyball Recap: Peyton's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Simla, Peyton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Monument Academy Lynx. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Peyton was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-7, 25-7.

Peyton can attribute much of their success to Brynlee Ray, who had eight digs and eight aces. That's the most aces Ray has posted since back in August.

Ray wasn't the only good servers: Peyton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win snapped Peyton's losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 4-10 record. As for Monument Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Peyton will square off against Liberty Tree Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monument Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calhan at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st.
