The Westside Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 26 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Powdersville 58-24 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Westside who now have six in a row.
Leading Westside to victory were Khalia Hartwell and Asia Clinkscales. Hartwell dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Clinkscales almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. Hartwell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ahrianna Scott was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the defeat, Powdersville saw an underclassman step up: Makayla Assemian scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Powdersville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Westside pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Powdersville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside is on the road again on Friday and play against Boiling Springs at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Boiling Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Westside is ranked 18th). As for Powdersville, they will head out on the road to face off against Travelers Rest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
