Carter Eickmeier Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Carter Eickmeier produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Shelby-Rising City to the win on Friday. Eickmeier rushed for 244 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (102.8) per game. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.
The win (which was Shelby-Rising City's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Eickmeier and Shelby-Rising City will square off against Mead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mcdonald Came Up Big in Mccool Junction's 52-6 Win
Carson Mcdonald was a major factor in McCool Junction's victory over Heartland on Friday. Mcdonald turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and a touchdown.
McCool Junction pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when Mustangs faces off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Jakson Smaus Leads East Butler over Mead
Jakson Smaus produced his most outstanding game to date while leading East Butler to the win on Friday. Smaus picked up 143 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
For the season, Smaus has caught those 4 touchdowns while averaging 37.8 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 13.17 receiving yards per game.

Grant Kozisek Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
East Butler was led to victory by Grant Kozisek, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Kozisek rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 96 yards and three touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making ten total tackles and defending two passes.
For the year, Kozisek has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 21.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 5.33 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 35.67 rushing yards.

Tytus R Lee Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Tytus R Lee posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mead over East Butler on Friday. R Lee made 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss). The performance also marked the most rushing yards (84) he has had since back in September of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 64 yards.
Mead is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. R Lee and Mead will head out on the road to challenge Shelby-Rising City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
