Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chaminade). They put the hurt on the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs with a sharp 17-2 victory on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Red Devils with their most commanding win of the season.

Chaminade let Jackson Miller and Anthony Wohlstadter run wild. Miller went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Wohlstadter went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Chaminade is undefeated when Miller posts two or more runs, but 2-21 otherwise. Tommy Piazza was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Chaminade hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matches.

Chaminade's win bumped their record up to 5-21. As for Fort Zumwalt South, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaminade will venture away from home to square off against Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redbirds' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
