The Blue Mountain Eagles will take on the Minersville Miners at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blue Mountain's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Minersville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Blue Mountain fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pine Grove on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 5-3. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Emily Leonard spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Blue Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Place, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Minersville came up short against Tri-Valley on Thursday and fell 8-4.
Minersville also let their pitcher toss all 11 innings and she was also dialed-in: Eila O'Brien gave up just two earned (and six unearned) runs on 12 hits.
At the plate, Rilynn Brennan was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Isabella Rizzardi, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI.
Minersville's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Blue Mountain, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Blue Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Minersville struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Blue Mountain's way against Minersville in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Blue Mountain made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
