Berthoud managed to slip by Timnath the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 6-0 to the Cubs on Monday. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Berthoud saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Lettieri, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Berthoud now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Timnath, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7.
