The Orangeburg Prep Indians won against the Florence Christian Eagles on Friday with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Orangeburg Prep secured a 52-46 W over Florence Christian. The victory was just business as usual for Orangeburg Prep, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Despite the defeat, Florence Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emerson Poston scored 14 points along with nine steals and six assists. Poston scored a full 30.4% of Florence Christian's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Demi Greene, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Florence Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Orangeburg Prep's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Florence Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orangeburg Prep will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilson Hall at 6:15 p.m. on January 10th. As for Florence Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Marlboro Academy at 6:30 p.m.
