While East Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 17-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the South San Antonio Bobcats on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won five in a row.

Leilani Luisa paced East Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Luisa got some help from Serenity Muro and her 15 assists. Peyton Martinez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for South San Antonio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

East Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against San Antonio Christian on the 26th. As for South San Antonio, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southwest Legacy on the 26th.
