Basketball Recap: Great Commission Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calvary Christian Academy, Great Commission was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 54-41 win over the Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors. For Great Commission, this counts as revenge for the 39-33 victory Calvary Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Lane, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Lane is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Micah Lloyd, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Great Commission's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Great Commission will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Centre County Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Calvary Christian Academy and Clearfield Alliance Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
