The Solorio Sun Warriors's game on Monday was all tied up 12-12 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 25-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corliss. Solorio can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Despite the defeat, Solorio saw an underclassman step up: Melanie Macedo scored 14 points. Macedo scored a full 66.7% of Solorio's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Graciela Mandujano, who scored 6 points.
Solorio's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Corliss, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Solorio will take on DuSable at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. DuSable comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Corliss, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hirsch at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hirsch comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
