Sentinel came out on top against Hellgate on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

McKenna Strab was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Sentinel got a massive performance out of Hayden Slater, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Slater a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Sentinel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Big Sky faced Glacier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 1-0. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Sentinel's victory bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Big Sky, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Sentinel hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Big Sky struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Sentinel's way against Big Sky in their previous matchup back in April, as Sentinel made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
