Softball Recap: Russellville Wins Going Away Against West Point

After only one run in their last matchup, Russellville made sure to put some runs up on the board against West Point on Wednesday. The Golden Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Warriors. The game marked the Golden Tigers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Khristian Huerta was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Bri McCulloch was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Russellville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Point only posted an OBP of .348.

Russellville moved to 4-18 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for West Point, they dropped their record down to 12-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Russellville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
