The Seminary Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of McLaurin by a score of 42-39. Seminary lost against McLaurin in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-40 score last time.
Leading McLaurin to victory were K.J. Canon and Michael Wallace. Canon dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Wallace scored 21 points along with six assists and six steals. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which Wallace has scored at least 25% of McLaurin's points.
Seminary bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.1 points per game. As for McLaurin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Magee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Seminary in Mississippi (Magee is ranked 147th, while Seminary is ranked 316th). As for McLaurin, they will be playing at home against Kemper County at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Kemper County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
