Basketball Recap: Pacifica Comes Up Short

Pacifica lost against Ventura back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pacifica Tritons took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ventura Cougars. The Tritons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Pacifica still got an impressive performance from Tommy Williams, who posted 24 points and five rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Britt, who earned ten points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ventura to victory, but perhaps none more so than Finn Fancher, who went 10 of 16 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Fancher has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Pacifica's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Ventura, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Pacifica didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 92-38 loss against Oxnard on the 27th. As for Ventura, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-56 defeat against San Marcos on the 27th.
