BASIS - Chandler was the victim of a tough 73-50 loss at the hands of Heritage Academy. BASIS - Chandler has struggled against Heritage Academy recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
BASIS - Chandler lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mathew Akpan, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Akpan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Kalan Karuppana was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and two steals.
Heritage Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Nelson led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Campbell, who scored 16 points.
BASIS - Chandler's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Heritage Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
BASIS - Chandler will head out on the road to take on BASIS - Scottsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully BASIS - Chandler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday. As for Heritage Academy, they will play host again and welcome Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Heritage Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
