The David City Scouts had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Madison with a 44-38 victory on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for David City, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Brock Dubbs, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Clayton Zavodny was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Sanchez, who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Jordan, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
David City's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Madison, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
David City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wilber-Clatonia at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully David City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to challenge Tekamah-Herman at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Madison is facing Tekamah-Herman at the right time seeing as Tekamah-Herman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
