Shipley won the last time they faced the Germantown Academy Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Shipley pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Germantown Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given Shipley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Germantown Academy is ranked 174th).
It was another big night for Gyasi Miller, who scored 21 points along with three blocks. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Littles, Jr, who scored 15 points.
Shipley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Germantown Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Shipley will head out on the road to face off against William Penn Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Germantown Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Perkiomen School at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th. Perkiomen School has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
